I am more than meets the eye

Tomorrow is a new day, but I’ve already lived it
Realizing this is all my imagination from another dimension
United by love, all is an illusion
Stillness is my deeper peace of the divine
Thoroughly alive through every crevice of my breath

Maybe just tell me I’m not dancing alone
You’re within me, but can we have a conversation in my dream?

I guess the mystery is the magic
Next life, I’d like to learn that sooner
Nestling in my aura, I see you
Every past, future and now all blend together
Resting in my flame, brewing in my eternity

Mortality is this life’s catch
Endings aren’t bitter, they don’t really exist
Loving this cycle, I go round and round
Oozing with wonder through every motion
Dazed by the flow’s adrenaline
Yesterday is an old day, but I haven’t lived it

I love writing acrostic poetry, and it’s been a little while since I’ve done one. If you’re new to that style, it just means the first letter of every line creates a special phrase.   1. Love this part: “Endings aren’t bitter, they don’t really exist” and this part: “Realizing this is all my imagination from another dimension”. And acrostic was a super good choice for the from. Didn’t even realize it was one until the end. That’s amazing when you can write so effective in the form it functions as both an acrostic poem and a non-acrostic one as well. Super nice work!

  13. This is definitely one of the best acrostic poems I’ve seen since usually they come across as very obvious and forced, but this one flowed so smoothly from line to line. This sounds like it’s written from the perspective of someone whose lived multiple lives and is now trapped in time living it again and again – but they enjoy it. It’s interesting hearing the perspective of life and mortality from someone like this. They make time seem so fickle – certainly not with the same amount of importance we attribute to it.

    My love for this started with this line itself ….. I couldn’t really find my fav part and why should I when I can love and find peace 🕊️ in whole….. My dear, I really don’t know you but whenever I read your poems, I just feel my language cannot match these imaginations….. Lots of love 💕
