a piece of a puzzle

Open book with a stash of bookmarks
Sky of blue with a crimson hue
A winter day with a heated night
A warm meal with a cold drink
Written pages with an unfinished title
A story with an ending still waiting for the beginning
An emotion without a thought
A solution with a hidden mystery
Steady with surprises
Wild in peace
A laugh with a deeper meaning
Listening with a talking heart
A magnifying glass staring into nothing
Nothingness full of life
A full circle with an open maze
A word with an undefined definition

Am I story written or read
A mystery with a solve or a solved mystery
Am I the yin to my yang
Or am I looking for the yang to my yin
If life is my palette
Am I all the different colors
Or the piece being painted
If life is paradoxical
Where do we come up with certainty?

-Grace

Just some random authentic thoughts compiled into what youโ€™d call โ€œ a whole pieceโ€. In a world of paradoxes, I call it a โ€œpiece of a puzzleโ€. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Great paradoxical piece…or should I say “whole” dear Grace.I love when you let your quick and profound mind, dig through Life’s evidence looking for more meaning. Your questions echo those of so many of us and at all stages of life. This is a wonderful romp through your inquisitive self. You permit us entrance, share in your questions to maybe draw our own conclusions. Beautifully thought-out and captured. More! More!….please:) ๐ŸŒนโค๏ธ๐Ÿค—

  3. Great questions!! I really paused when I read this one: “Am I story written or read” I think part of being human is to grasp for the meaning in the duality of it all. You made me think again!! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ™

  5. Those opening lines! I am immediately pulled into the literary scenery and love the paradoxical nature of this piece. The ending lines connected with me too, as I love the tantalizing nature of the question. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Life is full of paradoxes, questions and infirmities, but a path is carved out of the same, as you have shown here by piecing together random thoughts into a simple wholesome poem. Love the yin yang portion and the ending is just perfect, Grace! So beautifully crafted ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’–
