your constant

Who knows where we go
when we let go
Who knows what kicks in
when we give in
We’re in this never-ending dance
to rise and to fall
We dwell in this distance
of living and becoming
There is no right or wrong way
just a leap of knowing how to be
We escape and we run to what we think is true
but when we sit and stay, we bask in what truly is
We wonder if we’re meant to come together
or stay in pieces that simply work with each other
We look up at life as if we’re under an overpass
but in the most real sense, we are the life we look up to
Whether your reality is your own or a borrowed piece of time
it’s a gift to live outside one’s mind
Living is a consistent constant
and being is a chosen instant

An instant that can become your constant

  1. Just amazing Grace..Your first lines, the age old question open this philosophical poem like a perfect door into Humanity:
    “Who knows where we go
    when we let go
    Who knows what kicks in
    when we give in”
I love the way you put it by the way, but then through a series of poetic thoughts you provide a beautiful consistent perspective for living life.
eg: “There is no right or wrong way
just a leap of knowing how to be”
“it’s a gift to live outside one’s mind”
It’s such a gift to be aware that our lives are nothing short of a gift… Treasure it moment by moment..Be grateful and yes “being is a chosen instant”
Love what you have said here…All of it. Beautiful, wise and inspiring writing,
    my friend ❤️

  3. Wow this was one of the more perfect poems i’ve read by you. The structure, the flow, the thoughts. Everything had the right internal rhythm. As if the words were just ‘being’ and you wrote them as is and as it should have been. Love this one a little too much, Grace 🙂
