There was a journal, leather bound, medium in size and filled with crisp, unlined pages. It sat on the shelves of a cozy little shop waiting for a writer to hug it tight and bring it to life. It wasn’t long before the Universe delivered its wish. One starry Wednesday night seemed to be the perfect moment for this journal’s true journey to begin.
The soul who chose this journal had a lot of thoughts. She was a writer at heart, a dreamer in the mind and a galaxy within. The journal connected to the soul’s creativity in her veins and drive in her heart – together they would make a magical team.
The first entry was always the scariest for both the journal and the soul. Something about ruining the first blank page scared her. And for the journal, the feeling of the pen hitting its smooth paper skin or the words burning into its essence brought a little fear. But, what’s a true victory without a little practice of courage?
So, she untied the string that held this journal together, opened the leather folds of the cover and rested her hand on the first blank page. She took a deep breath and began writing. And while the soul was still courageously getting into her zone, the journal had lost all fear. When the soul’s hand rested on its skin, they were connected forever. Touch has the power of creating magic, remembering emotion and connecting beings together eternally. In the purity of her small hands, dainty fingers and callused scars – the journal knew love would always be her quest and that took away any fears.
The journal soaked in her deep, adventurous and raw words. She wrote about change, about growing, about missing someone, about moving forward but most importantly, about her truth – her feelings. Her rhymes felt special on its crinkly pages and her honesty was soothing to the journal. As she wrote a piece of her story, the journal read a piece of its own.
And with their first meeting finished, she folded the leather cover, wrapped the tie and placed her hand on its smooth soul. The journal smiled through the insides of the pages and continued to dive into her words. Her words were words this journal would be reading forever and ever.
Some poems, a song, and a few unfinished drafts later, the journal and the soul were bonded. The soul would pick up this journal usually at night, right before she drifted off into dreamland but was still awake enough in her waking land. The journal patiently waited all day for those nights when it could dive into her pen’s interpretation of her feelings and her erased words – for those were the words that spoke the loudest. She took her time in filling the journal’s precious pages, as the journey of completing a journal was a life in its own. She cherished the feeling of more blank pages, it let her imagination play around more and somewhere inside, she truly felt the journal was alive.
And that’s what the journal loved, it’d found a soul who believed in the Universe, who believed in love and who believed in IT.

One of the pillars of my character development and foundation-building in my childhood was loyalty. I always thought of it as one of the more simple concepts, something that’s an obvious trait. Through relationship ups and downs, growing internally and watching the Universe (me) design my life, I learned loyalty is a little bigger than I might have realized.
It feels so good to be loyal to yourself. When you know who you are in your bones, when you love yourself enough to stand up for yourself and when you believe so purely in your strength – life becomes so free. It’s the only way to truly live or thrive. You can’t authentically be loyal to something/someone else if you aren’t loyal to yourself. Something externally can trigger, question or test you, but, with loyalty to yourself there’s a certain peace within that allows you to see with open eyes and to rise above with an open heart. Here’s the fun part about being loyal to yourself — you automatically are being loyal to the Universe, because you are it and it is you; the Universe and you are one. The Universe is always loyal to you, because without even knowing it, there’s a place inside of you somewhere that always loves you for you; that place is called your soul.
In a few recent life experiences, I let loyalty roam around a little bit in my head. Bumping into experiences where it feels as though others are not loyal to us in ways that we would rather they be or if we feel betrayed or let down, it can seem that we live in an unfair, lonely, disloyal world. But, in reality, people can only be as loyal to us as they are to themselves. Throughout learning important character traits, and, together, laying foundational character work with my family as a very young person, I continue to realize over the years just who I am and how I function in Life and relationships. I know what I can count on from me and it guides me as I navigate even the toughest of situations. There is this ‘me’ that is guiding my choices full of what I can count on to show up as my character — and that is what is loyal to me and I to it — that force that guides me through knowing who I Am and who and what I am not and/or what I will and will not allow/participate in. Others meet us where they are at on their own perfect journey. The same loyalty we show ourselves is the loyalty that shows up for and with others. It is all a beautiful experience that is just as it should be along the way of embodying ever more of who we truly are.
When you trust yourself (the Universe), you can truly see this journey in a grander perspective. Grander perspective as in, more than this so-called human life — something infinite. This life is more than we believe it to be, we are the creators and everything happens for a reason. With loyalty to yourself, you start to see how everything truly connects.
I’m going to be honest, relationships are tricky. They’re one of the hardest things to life, but, one of the most rewarding! I believe in humanity, I believe in people, I believe in love. I care and I see you for you, so, I’ll be loyal if the stars align and if my intuition knows. There’s a piece of me that naturally sees people as being genuinely loyal too, and who knows, that could be true or not. The truth is, we’re are all reflections of each other, so maybe that’s just me seeing myself in another. People may not be loyal to you, they might not see you for you and that’s ok. Everyone is learning, growing and evolving at their perfect pace on their journey. I have loyalty to the Universe because I trust that all is always well and that all is meant to be. I have loyalty to myself because I am my best friend and I infinitely trust me through everything/anything.
I think sometimes the most seemingly simple things in life are the most powerful. And right now, loyalty is presenting itself a lot in my life. Through it’s appearances recently, I’ve paid more attention to the feelings that come with being loyal. Let’s just put it simply — it seriously feels so good to be loyal to yourself! You know when you smile and your whole aura changes, your thoughts change and your heart opens; it’s a similar feeling through being loyal. Someone can be talking to you, waiting for you to say a certain thing or to talk down / lower your vibration and you just smile and stay true to you, it’s so simple but such a BIG thing! There’s a knowing that comes with being loyal, it’s a knowing of your soul. And when you know your soul, YOU are truly fearless and free.

Strong is one of my favorite videos of this album! I immediately knew when I came up with this idea for an album I’d have to do a video about daring to be strong. Strength is such a broad topic, but, I feel this video captures it well! In a world where the darkness wants us to go crazy, it’s always within us to be strong. Three Things About Me
I am a morning person and love the early morning air. I do a lot of my writing then and I feel most at peace in the mornings because I’m closest to my dream reality and my waking reality.
The yin and yang to my life is tennis and writing. I’m a competitive tennis athlete and it brings out my fearless side. I love training and my time in the gym and the tennis court; I’d still be that shy/scared little soul without tennis. So, I am forever grateful for all the lessons and growth it has brought me. And writing brings out my free side. Writing has let me evolve into so many versions of my soul and truly has blessed me in so many ways; a big one being connection to the Universe and connecting with all of you! What brings the yin and yang of my life together is that I don’t think in either of them. In tennis, I let the adrenaline, the flow and my intuition do its thing. And same thing for writing, just in a different way.
I’ve been vegan for 13 years, sugar-free for 1 year and I am fascinated by the human body. I think we are much stronger and more powerful than we truly know. Taking care of my body brings me freedom and healthy routines and those routines bring me such comfort.
My Answers To Grace’s Questions
What is the greatest lesson you have learned? – Definitely, to speak up for myself and to release my emotions/thoughts. For so many years, I bottled everything up and stuffed it all down. And once I started to speak up for myself in small things, it leaked into bigger areas of my life and spread to let me become fearless and free. It’s a freeing thing to stand up for yourself and to lose the fear of “what is someone going to think if I say this?” or “is this the right or wrong way?” Through standing up for myself, I also learned to love myself. Once I had the courage to verbally speak my thoughts, I had the courage to internally release my emotions. And putting those two together, led me to be fearless and free.
What advice would you give to yourself from 10 years ago? – To enjoy life more. My fear trapped me in a cage of worry and rushing and getting things over with, I forgot the simplest thing – to enjoy life. It is a regret of mine, but even if I could change it, I don’t think I would. The fear truly let me grow and I can honestly say, I’m so grateful for all the lessons it taught me and all the versions of me I got to meet. Becoming fearless was the greatest feeling in my life, and without fear I wouldn’t have got there. So, I’d tell myself from 10 years ago to enjoy life and my journey – it’s a fun ride no matter the bumps.
What is your favorite and least favorite color? – Blue is my favorite (black is a near second :-), and red is my least favorite.
How would you want to be remembered? – As someone who didn’t live to be remembered but who lived to truly LIVE. Someone who inspired, who dreamed, who spread love and freedom and someone who fulfilled this life’s mission. I truly believe in reincarnation and that this life is simply my soul’s current stop on my journey, so, I think no matter how I’m remembered in this timeline/reality I’ll continue living and learning elsewhere.
What is your favorite quote? – “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.” -John Wooden. It’s truly helped me a lot in my life.

It was so fun to collaborate with my little brother on this piece! This poem is based off our family tradition when we were younger of reading poetry each night. Those poetry nights shaped me into the person and poet I am today. It feels very full circle that my brother’s first poetry experience is this, it was such a pleasure writing with him.
